Jenea Smith is the Controller for Renewable Properties based out of the company’s corporate headquarters in San Francisco. As Controller, Jenea is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s accounting operations and financial quality review, ensuring a proper internal control structure and timely outside reporting, as well as supporting the company’s strategic planning process and compliance related matters. She has been in the renewable energy industry for 4 years and joined Renewable Properties in 2024. Prior to joining the team, Jenea’s renewable energy experience was as Controller for Brightmark where she was integral in leading and building the Accounting department in a rapid growth start-up environment, while developing and implementing policies and procedures across various key functional departments. Prior to entering the renewable energy industry, Jenea was in public accounting specializing in audit & assurance, tax and business consulting for clients in the construction, wholesale / distribution, manufacturing, agriculture / farming and various other industries. Jenea is a Certified Public Accountant and earned her bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of California Santa Cruz.
