March 23, 2026 marked the nine-year "work-a-versary" of yours truly and Renewable Properties.
Nine years ago, I started RP at my kitchen table in my rent controlled apartment in San Francisco with my now wife, Katie Halimi, by my side. What a nine years it has been!
As I reflect on the past nine years and all the hard work that's gone into building Renewable Properties into what it is today, I keep gravitating towards one thing that stands out: It's the people.
The team that we've built here at RP is what I'm most proud of. I'm not only proud of how hard the team works, but how they carry themselves, how we interact with each other and our partners; how we laugh, joke, and have fun. I'm proud of how we enjoy each other's company and don't back down in the face of adversity. The RP team always comes together, collaborates, and works effectively to solve any challenge that's thrown at them.
I'm not only grateful for our team, internally, but also for our external team of consultants, lawyers, accountants, engineers, EPCs, lenders, investors, utilities, and more.
So, on this nine-year anniversary, I hope that the entire team will take a minute to reflect on the past nine years. Celebrate it, enjoy it, and be proud of the team we've built and what's to come ahead!
